The president of Somalia has arrived in Uganda for AMISOM summit Kampala, August 3, 2013
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Uganda to attend the AMISOM Troops Contributing Countries Summit of Heads of State.
The summit will discuss recent developments and map out ways of addressing challenges faced by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Sierra Leone are the countries contributing troops to AMISOM.
The Plane carrying the President and his delagation touched down at Entebbe International Airport to day. He was received by senior officials of Uganda Government and Somalis living and working in Uganda led by Somali ambassador to uganda.
Other leaders attending the summit, which opens tomorrow, are Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and host president Yoweri Museveni. Burundi, Sierra Leone and Djibouti sent representatives.
